Dr. Eshwar P. Gumidyala, MD (Psychiatrist)

Dr. Eshwar P. Gumidyala is a fully licensed and experienced psychiatrist who has been practicing since 1998. He served as the Medical Director of Behavioral Health Services and Section Chair for the Department of Psychiatry at Centegra Health Systems. Currently he has been the attending physician treating inpatient and partial hospitalization patients at Northwestern Medicine in Woodstock, Illinois.

Dr. Gumidyala treats patients in an inpatient setting, partial hospitalization (including behavioral health and dual diagnosis patients) as well as outpatient psychiatry at Horizons Behavioral Health. He specializes in the treatment of schizophrenia, bipolar disorder, major depression, anxiety disorders, OCD, PTSD, dual diagnosis, and personality disorders. His areas of interest include psychiatric disorders secondary to traumatic brain injury, seizure disorder, and stroke mood disorders. He treats his patients by applying a biopsychosocial model with empathy and caring to achieve their full recovery.

Dr Gumidyala received his Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS) degree from Kakatiya University in India. Dr. Gumidyala served as a family practitioner and completed residency in Psychiatry at Finch University of Health Sciences/Chicago Medical School, serving as Chief Resident during his final year.

Dr. Gumidyala is fluent in English, Hindi, and Telugu. He is also a member of the American Psychiatric Association, the American Medical Association, and the American Association of Physicians of Indian Origin.
