Dr. Ritu Talwar, MD (Psychiatrist)

Dr. Ritu Kaur Talwar is a licensed, ABPN Board Certified psychiatrist who joined Horizons Behavioral Health in 2010. Dr. Talwar holds hospital affiliation at Advocate Good Shepherd Hospital in Barrington.

Dr. Talwar graduated with Bachelors of Science degree in Biology from Queens College in New York and received her Doctor of Medicine degree from Windsor University School of Medicine. Her postgraduate training included Residency training at Rosalind Franklin University at Chicago Medical School, Mount Sinai Hospital, Veterans Administration Hospital and Elgin State Mental Health Hospital.

She works with patients suffering from depression, anxiety, mood disorders, psychotic disorders and has a primary focus on women’s mental health.

In addition to her academic training and work experience, Dr. Talwar is a member of the American Psychiatric Association, American Medical Association and the National Alliance on Mental Illness.
